Getting High Off Racism
The left is addicted to images that feel racist but they could care less about the lives of black people
It was too good to be true.
A young, black actor named Jussie Smollett was attacked in the early morning by two people yelling racial slurs at him. They beat him and “poured an unknown chemical substance on the victim,” according to the police.
One of the attackers even used rope in an attempt to lynch Smollett during the assault. According to the actor, the attackers yelled, “MAGA country!”
Of course they did.
Obviously it was all nonsense. Every new detail of the alleged assault was more ridiculous than the last.
But it was too good not to believe for progressives. They need racism. They want racism. They love racism.
Acts of racism mean that there are racists and racists are pure evil and that stands in direct contrast to the left whose members are all pure good.
The Smollett case was never believable. Never. Doesn’t matter though. These people are addicted and just like Hunter Biden will smoke parmesan cheese when the crack runs out, a race-addicted progressive will take what he can get to achieve the high.
And so it was that during his 2017 press conference in which President Trump responded to the violence in Charlottesville, Va., by saying at one point that, “you also had people that were very fine people, on both sides," the racism-addicted left extracted the words from their context and meaning, rolled them into an joint and smoked up.
Trump was clearly talking about the debate over removing statues. He was stating that there were fine people on both sides of the debate. He was right.
In fact, his press conference was one of his best. Read it yourself. It was the press who were unhinged in a feeding frenzy, not Trump. He was sharp and for him, rather focused.
But the media, the left’s drug dealer, had slipped the goods into the palm of their client and they were floating on air in seconds.
2020 was the Woodstock of imagined racism. The left went from smoking parmesan cheese to freebasing kitty litter when the need to get higher and higher swept the land after the death of George Floyd at the hands of the Minneapolis police.
It was during that bender that the Bubba Wallace non-racist event excited so many.
Wallace, a black NASCAR driver was made aware that a noose was hanging in the garage which housed his car.
Baboom!
Out came pronouncements from Wallace, a public struggle session from NASCAR and even a hoard of FBI converged on the scene to get in on the dramatic production.
The left loves perceived nooses.
They took no time in blasting this baby straight into their veins.
Their media so wanted it to be true that most photos of the door pull, which is what it was, were cropped so that the size of the loop could not be determined. The actual shot (above) clearly shows that the rope could only be considered a noose if a Guinea Pig were in the gallows.
Which brings us to the racist whipping of Haitians in Texas by Border Patrol agents.
This one took a bit more suspended reality to make it into the bloodstream of progressive addicts. There were no whips, for starters. Also, no one was whipped, there was no whipping and literally nothing happened. The attempt was so lame that octogenarian pusher Joe Biden even invented a new term, saying Border Patrol cowboys had “strapped” the Haitians.
No one was strapped either.
But as in all of these cases, half of the country just needs enough evidence to feel something racist has happened.
Half of Americans feel that Trump supporters would beat up a black actor for their sheer entertainment and that Donald Trump looks at white supremacists and those who oppose them as morally equivalent and NASCAR folks would want to scare a black driver away with a noose and that the United States Border Patrol goes around whipping people based on race.
All of these cases are absurd in countless ways, however many of the the people who believe them are highly educated and very respected members of society.
We are to think that these people are repulsed by racism and should thus be relieved when outlandish stories like these are debunked. But they aren’t. In fact, they fight to defend the apocryphal accounts, passionately.
It’s really odd.
But the astounding and most remarkable thing is this: Just in the last couple of weeks, a notable black man running in a recall race for governor of California was attacked by a white woman who wore a gorilla mask. The woman threw an egg at the man, on camera, and then her allies assaulted the candidate’s campaign staff.
The egg missed but the cameras didn’t.
This ACTUALLY HAPPENED.
It’s all there. A black man from a marginalized community in a political battle usually reserved for white men. His opponent is a wealthy white man with every “privilege” one could imagine. The black man is assailed by a white woman who is wearing a gorilla mask - a racial trope if there ever was one.
There it was. Finally, the pure uncut stuff. This is the motherload for those addicted to racism, sitting right there, just waiting to be inhaled, injected, sniffed, smoked, whatever.
But for some reason, those who live to get high off of racism quit cold-turkey. They didn’t feel like this was racist.
Why not?
Unless this was never about race.
This is all about declaring those they disagree with to be monsters. They just absolutely despise certain groups of people.
They cannot justify this urge on the merits. They cannot debate on facts. They’re furious, though, and they need to express themselves, now. Every bit of rage and anger needs an outlet.
So when the opportunity to erupt comes in the form of lashing out at their hated outgroup over racism they’ll take it, imagined or not.
They don’t have the courage to act out without cover of such events. And they won’t condemn their brothers-in-arms who do, whether the egg misses or hits.
